How delivery and pickup work
How pickup works
On your scheduled pickup date, we'll collect the empty bins and dollies from the address provided. Empty the bins, close the lids and stack everything in a safe, accessible ground-level location.
You do not need to be home if you give us permission to collect the bins unattended. We'll contact you before the driver arrives.
How long can I keep the bins?
What it costs, and what it doesn’t
Attached lids, moving labels, MoveLock Security Seals, delivery and pickup within our standard service area are included with every package.
- The Student Move — $99: 10 bins, 1 large moving bag, 1 dolly and a 10-day rental
- The Apartment Move — $139: 20 bins, 2 large moving bags, 1 dolly and a 14-day rental
- The Home Move — $189: 40 bins, 4 large moving bags, 2 dollies and a 14-day rental
- The Family Move — $249: 60 bins, 6 large moving bags, 2 dollies and a 14-day rental

We do not charge a traditional rental deposit. A $100 temporary damage authorization hold is placed on the card associated with the rental, like a hotel incidental hold.
The hold is not a fee or completed charge, although it may temporarily reduce the available balance on a debit card. It is released after all rented equipment has been returned and inspected. Your bank determines how quickly the pending hold disappears from your account.
No. There is no fuel surcharge, standard cleaning fee or separate charge for delivery and pickup within our standard service area.
Additional charges may apply for extended-area service, rental extensions, added equipment, missed collection trips, lost or damaged items and custom packages. Any known charge will be disclosed before it is added to your reservation.
If something goes wrong
Minor scuffs and scratches caused by ordinary, proper use are considered normal wear.
Damage includes cracks, holes, broken lids or handles, warping, burns, permanent markings, strong odors, excessive stains or residue, and contamination from paint, oil, chemicals or other prohibited materials.
Contact us as soon as possible. We'll inspect the equipment and determine whether the issue is normal wear or customer-caused damage.
Lost equipment and damage beyond normal wear may result in a repair or replacement charge under the rental agreement. The $100 temporary damage hold may be applied toward that amount, but the hold is not a damage waiver or a limit on the customer's responsibility.
No. Renting our equipment does not provide insurance for the belongings packed inside it. Alabama Moving Bins delivers and collects empty rental equipment; we do not pack, load, transport or store customer belongings.
Check with your homeowners, renters or moving insurance provider if you need coverage during the move. Our bins are weather-resistant, but they are not waterproof or a substitute for insurance.
Do not pack:
- More than 100 pounds in one bin
- People or animals
- Gasoline, propane, fireworks or other flammable materials
- Hazardous, corrosive or illegal substances
- Open liquids or containers likely to leak
- Hot items, wet materials or anything that could stain or contaminate the bin
- Unprotected sharp objects that could puncture the bin or injure someone
Keep these with you. Firearms, ammunition, medications, identification, important documents, jewelry and other valuables should remain in your personal possession — not in a bin and not on the truck.
Customers are responsible for handling and using the equipment safely while it is in their possession. Protect finished surfaces, lift bins instead of dragging them, and do not roll loaded dollies on stairs or across surfaces that could be damaged.
Alabama Moving Bins is not responsible for property damage caused by a customer's packing, lifting, stacking, rolling, storage or use of the equipment, except as required by law. If you believe damage occurred during an AMB delivery or pickup, contact us promptly.
Where we deliver
Our standard service area covers addresses within approximately 15 miles of Vestavia Hills. Delivery and pickup are included when both addresses fall within this area.
The standard area generally includes Birmingham, Homewood, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Mountain Brook, Chelsea, Pelham, Helena, Bessemer, Irondale, Fultondale and Leeds.
Service is determined by the specific street address — not simply the city name — because some communities cross the mileage boundary.
We offer extended-area service for many addresses located 15 to 22 miles from Vestavia Hills for an additional delivery fee.
This area generally includes Trussville, Gardendale, Alabaster, McCalla, Moody, Clay and Pinson. Enter your address or contact us, and we'll confirm availability and the fee before you reserve.
Addresses beyond 22 miles fall outside our regular delivery area. Contact us to ask about custom delivery availability.
Yes. We serve apartments, condominiums and student housing throughout the Birmingham area, including properties near UAB.
Customers are responsible for confirming building access, parking, loading-area and elevator requirements. Standard service is to an accessible ground-level location such as a lobby, loading area or leasing-office entrance.
