King’s Home Donation Pickup
King’s Home offers donation pickup in parts of the Birmingham metro and Central Alabama, including Over-the-Mountain communities.
King’s Home accepts many types of gently used household donations, including furniture, clothing, shoes, home goods and toys. Used mattresses and older office equipment are not accepted.
Complete the online request form or call 205-956-5658. The King’s Home team will contact you to confirm whether your address is within its current pickup area and arrange a date and time.
The Lovelady Center Donation Pickup
The Lovelady Center accepts new and gently used donations through its thrift stores in Irondale and Clay. Donations support programs serving women and children in the Birmingham area.
Commonly accepted items include:

- Home décor and lighting
- Tools
- Electronics
- Other useful household goods

Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham ReStore Pickup
Moving, remodeling or replacing furniture? The Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham ReStore may be a good option for larger household and home-improvement donations.
Accepted items may include:
- Furniture
- Working appliances
- Cabinets
- Lighting
- Windows and flooring
- Usable building materials
- General household items
The Birmingham ReStore does not accept used mattresses, used paint, televisions, clothing, toys or board games.
Submit the online pickup form and include photographs of your items and any potential access issues. Photos help the ReStore determine whether the donation can be accepted and what equipment will be needed.
The Salvation Army Donation Pickup
The Salvation Army offers pickup scheduling for commonly donated items such as clothing, furniture, household goods and working appliances.

How to Prepare for a Donation Pickup
A little planning can keep pickup day simple:
- Schedule early. Donation appointments can fill quickly, especially at the end of the month and during busy moving seasons.
- Confirm what is accepted. Each organization has different rules, and drivers may decline damaged, stained or nonworking items.
